Andreas (aka ‘the Scientist’): where most have failed, he will find a way!

Even as a teen, summer holidays were spent helping with the family business: setting up for concerts in concrete amphitheatres in the August heatwave. There was never a doubt that SOUND would be his passion and future. Now he is the Owner/Manager/Designer/Engineer…basically every role needed…of FSD Electronics.

After completing his studies as an Audio Engineer at SAE Athens, Andreas was back in Cyprus and began the many years of working with the GRANDFATHER (capitals are needed for effect!). Anyone who knows Andreas would also know his grandfather and founder of FSD Electronics, Sotos. He is a character to say the least (hence the capitals letters earlier) and has been a major contributing factor to Andreas’ ability to troubleshoot any issue.

There is hardly an event in Cyprus that Andreas has not been involved in one way or another. He has taken on the role of System Engineer/Designer for touring artists such as Niki Romero, Jose Careras, Goran Bregovic, Jethro Tull and John Malkovich. Andreas has also had his fair share of time as Sound Operator on and off the island, including the opportunity to work at the London 2012 Olympics.

He has been involved in large-scale installations, such as the Four Seasons Hotel ballroom/conference room and also as a contracted systems engineer for the Limassol Municipal Pattihio Theatre. He is currently the Active Audio Systems Consultant for the Limassol Central Church.

All this may sound very impressive… but of course it would not be possible without his better half, his wife of over 10 years, Jet (AKA Yiannoulla). Jet is also a sound engineer from the West End, London, and has contributed to the success of both Andreas and FSD Electronics. Andreas is a proud father of 2 boys who – he quickly adds – will be encouraged NOT to become musicians!

The most reliable person in Cyprus, and probably the world! We have worked with Andreas over many years and whether it’s a big musical or a recording session, we can always relax with him sorting out the sound….and always going the extra mile to ensure the very best!
