This is the second piano solo release of 2024 by Hovig Nassanian. He explains: “At an altitude of 667 metres, the beautiful village of Kakopetria is one of our favourite spots in Cyprus. For the last 18 years, my wife and I have often escaped to it from the heat of the city and the busyness of daily life.
The Mill at Kakopetria has captured our hearts as our cherished mountain retreat, akin to a second home nestled in nature’s embrace. From its enchanting balcony, one is greeted by the majestic silhouette of the Troodos mountains, adorned by the quaint charm of the meticulously preserved old village homes and meandering pathways. The soothing melody of the river flowing below completes this picturesque sanctuary, etching unforgettable memories with each passing moment.
Ok I have to confess: that last paragraph was written by Chat GPT for me, but it’s actually a very accurate description of how we feel. Sitting at the piano one evening, I remembered the sound of the river and breeze through the trees…they provided the backdrop for the music that sort of flowed from my fingers to the piano keys. From the next room, my wife Anna exclaimed, ‘I like it!’
